Warm and Form Back Support

Warm and form back braces.  If you’ve been putting off ordering your brace, now is a good time.  The holidays are here, ain’t nobody got time for back pain.

Did you go to the mall this morning and your back was aching?  Possibly twinged something lifting the turkey out of the oven?  I hurt my back yesterday going to for a walk.  Yes, I know it sounds silly – but it happened.  I’m close to 50 years old, and had the brilliant idea to climb over the railing of a staircase.  I’ll spare you the details, but I stepped funny, fell on my butt, and woke up this morning with an old familiar friend, back pain.

The next few weeks are going to be busy ones.  Take care of the back pain now, or it will take care of you.

Magnetic Treatment Back Brace

June 14, 2017 @ 10:05 am posted by Brace and Support Help

Magnetic Back Brace

Magnetic therapy has been used effectively for centuries to reduce pain and swelling.  The magnetic knee and back braces that are sold through the Support and Brace website are seldom returned.  Every website that sells retail loses money on returns.  It doesn’t matter what the product is.  So if you’re skeptical about magnetic therapy look at it from a business perspective.  Why would we promote and sell a product that would have a high potential for returns?  These back braces provide lower back pain relief.  Our customers who order these magnetic back and knee braces keep them.

The Magnet Treatment Back Brace provides magnetic therapy for lumbar back pain.  This lumbar support contains 28 research-grade ceramic magnets.  Each magnet is 4,300 gauss.  These magnets produce deep-penetrating therapeutic magnetic fields.  The back brace is constructed of breathable neoprene and “special vapor chambers”.  This helps control sweat and keeps the brace dry and comfortable.  The velcro on this back brace allows for easy adjustments.

Low back pain is a leading cause of missed work each year.   Elastic back braces are an inexpensive and effective over-the-counter treatment option for back pain.  This type of back support provides compression and support without requiring a trip to the doctor.  If you sit at a desk all day, a back brace can help your posture, keep your back straight, and reduce lower back pain.

The back brace pictured above is designed to provide lower lumbar support.  It is constructed with heavy-duty elastic material and contains 4 bone stays to prevent the brace from “rolling over”.  This brace has two pull straps that wrap around the body to provide compression and support.  These pulls are designed with assist loops to aid in patient application.

What is a Warm and Form Back Brace?

November 8, 2016 @ 4:52 pm posted by Brace and Support Help
Warm and Form Back Support

Warm and Form Back Support

Warm and Form back braces consist of an elastic belt to provide compression and a heat-moldable insert for support.  The hard panel (insert) is contoured with heat to the lower back for a custom fit.  The insert does not stay warm.  Once the insert cools, it maintains the shape of the anatomy it was molded to.   Hot water or a heat gun can be used for molding the insert.  These back braces cannot be returned once the inserts are heated and molded.     Warm and form back braces require a medical professional to heat the moldable insert to the point where the plastic becomes malleable.

Warm and Form Back Brace

December 26, 2015 @ 10:00 am posted by Brace and Support Help

Have you been prescribed a warm and form back brace and you’re not sure where to get one?   You’re not alone – it happens all the time.  The reason you’re having trouble filling your prescription is mostly because of health insurance, specifically the reimbursement for dispensing warm and for back braces.  In most cases the health care provider dispensing the warm and form back brace gets paid less by health insurance companies than they have to pay for the brace.  Simply put, it costs health care providers money to dispense warm and form back braces.

One of the reasons that reimbursement for a warm and form back brace is less than the cost of the product is because a warm and form back brace is decades old technology.  There are new back braces available that are more effective, less bulky, and easier to use.  A warm and form back brace needs to be fit by a medical professional.  There’s a moldable panel in the brace that needs to be heated and molded to each patient’s anatomy.  The brace pictured below accomplishes the same, if not better, custom fit by using pulleys instead of a hard, plastic insert.

back support  The Warm and Form Alternative back brace is designed to replace warm and form technology with a lumbar support that is lower profile, easier to use, and more effective.

The back brace pictured above can be tightened with one hand.  It is effective, easy, and comfortable.

Hyperextension Back Braces

Hperextension Brace

Hyper Extension Back Brace

Hyperextension braces are a type of TLSO that controls flexion (bending forward).

With a compression fracture of the lumbar or low thoracic spine, it’s important to limit trunk flexion. You want to resist anterior flexion and the development of a kyphotic deformity.  This positioning of the spine unloads the anterior portion of the vertebral bodies.

These devices are commonly prescribed for compression fractures due to trauma or osteoporosis from T10 to L2.  Hyperextension braces must be prescribed by a physician and fit by an orthotist.

L0472 is the billing code.
