There are six muscles that make up the adductor muscle group located in the inner thigh. A tear or rupture of any one of these muscles is know as a groin pull. A pulled groin can be anything from mild over-stretching to a complete rupture. Athletes are more likely to experience a groin pull than the general public – especially the weekend warrior. What needs to be remembered is that once injured, that muscle is more likely to be re-injured.
A groin wrap provides warmth and compression. This will make the injured area feel better. Once the pain subsides and activity is resumed, the groin compression wrap will increase blood flow and provide warmth to the adductor muscle group. That will help in preventing re-injury.
A groin wrap is designed to make pulls and strains feel better. Comfortable compression in this sensitive area is a must, so these braces can’t be too tight. The warmth and pressure these wraps provide increase blood flow to the injured area. These groin braces should be washed regularly and allowed to completely air dry.
