Carpal Tunnel Night Splint

                    Carpal Tunnel Night Splint

Do you need to wear a night splint for carpal tunnel?  If you found this blog post you probably already know there are a lot of wrist braces and wrist splints out there.  Why?  Because there are lot of wrist injuries.  Not every wrist injury is like carpal tunnel syndrome and carpal tunnel syndrome is not like every wrist injury.  You most likely don’t need a big honking wrist brace to treat your carpal tunnel.  Think about what you are trying to do.  You are trying to keep your wrist straight while sleeping.  To achieve this you have to do two things: sleep and keep your wrist from bending.

If you can’t sleep because of your wrist brace you may alleviate some of the pain associated with your carpal tunnel but you will invite a host of sleeping related issues into your life.  So your wrist brace needs to be comfortable enough that you can fall asleep wearing it.  Do you sleep on your hands?  Then you should avoid any wrist brace with laces or velcro that will brush against your face.  That means a wrap around wrist brace will be a good choice – something smooth.

Some people’s wrists curl up when they sleep.  You don’t need a metal stay or bar in your wrist brace to prevent that.  The point is, if you have carpal tunnel and you need a night splint start with something low-profile, something simple.  If you need more support then step up to a wrist brace with a metal stay or a rigid structure.

A wrap around wrist brace is under $20.  It’s a good place to start.

Scar Reducing Carpal tunnel Brace

Scar Reducing Carpal Tunnel Brace

  • Universal Wrist Brace
  • Hypoallergenic Gel Pad
  • Infused with Mineral Oil
  • Ideal for Scar Reduction

This carpal tunnel wrist brace is comfortable and supportive.  It makes a great night splint because it is soft and constructed without any straps or velcro on the back of the brace.  This means nothing gets caught in the sheets or scratches your face while sleeping.

A pad infused with hypoallergenic gel and medical grade mineral oil protects the wrist from shock and vibration as well as moisturizing the skin to keep it supple.  This is an ideal wrist brace for reducing scarring and increasing range of motion following carpal tunnel surgery.

A patient assist strap makes one-handed application easy.  And a 4-way stretch of neoprene ensures the brace conforms to the contour of the hand.
